COVID-19 Updates and Information
The full name of our organization is: The Intercultural Mentoring Program Advancing Community Ties. We are a University of Oregon program that aims to tie first-year students with the U of O upperclassmen. In doing so, we hope to make the transition from high school in to higher education an easy and most enjoyable one. We also wish to make life at the U of O a more comfortable, accepting, and culturally responsive experience. Our goal is to foster these relationships through educational programing, social and networking events. WE HONOR THE POWER OF BEING CONNECTED TO A COMMUNITY. --- ACHIEVING THE HIGHEST EXCELLENCE:
Creating a friendly atmosphere for students to be successful in the university, IMPACT is a program that highly encourages students to go beyond the expected and achieve the highest recognition in their core studies.
---
HISTORY:
IMPACT was started by two University of Oregon students in the early 2000s. Originally entitled, the Ethnic Origins Peer MentorProgram (EOPMP), the name IMPACT was adopted.
---
WHO WE SERVE:
To date, IMPACT serves all types of University of Oregon students from historically underrepresented backgrounds. Led by seven IMPACT Student Coordinators, IMPACT recruits new mentees for each academic year.
