The Mills International Center, in collaboration with the UO Libraries at the University of Oregon is proud to host its fourteenth annual World Poetry Night on February 21st, from 6-8 p.m. in the Knight Library Browsing Room.
This year’s theme is World Storytelling. Stories will be told through poems as a way to share the poet’s experiences from many places in many languages across the world. World Poetry Night serves as a platform for students, faculty, staff, and community to share their creativity and culture through spoken word. Participants will present original poetry or work by a poet who inspires them. The event is free and ticketed, tickets can be obtained WPN2017.EventBrite.com. The event is open to all members of the Eugene community.
Attendees will hear poetry in languages from around the globe. English translations will be provided in printed format. The event includes scheduled performances, refreshments, and food. Hosting the event as Master of Ceremonies will be Heghine Hakobyan, Slavic Librarian.
