Matthew Knight Arena, Box Office Area (Meet near the Duck statue!)
1840 E 13th Ave Eugene, OR
Let's go on one last career tour before finals! Tour two local bioscience companies that are excited to introduce you to careers (and internships!) in a behind-the-scenes tour of a growing Oregon industry. Event is FREE, bring a friend! Register on Handshake to get more information in the coming weeks and see what it's all about before you commit! Note: Event is from 9am to 12pm, must be available for the entire event--trust us, IT'S WORTH IT!
What do we mean by "Biosciences" ?
It's a big term that includes LOTS of cool fields! Biotech, med tech and digital health just to name a few! People with a mission to cure patients, protect our climate and feed the world. The local bio-industry is growing and also needs accountants, sales people, and operations managers. For any student wishing to make a positive impact on the world, please attend.
We'll have a bus that will pick up students in front of Matthew Knight Arena Box Office (in front of the Duck statue) at 9am and take you around Eugene to two stops all focused on the biosciences. The stops are: Abcam and InVivo Biosystems. While at the stops, you'll get an opportunity to tour facilities as well as meet with leaders in the field. The bus will then return no later than 12pm to Matthew Knight Arena to drop everyone off. The Oregon Bioscience Association is one of our partners and their executive director, Liisa Bozinovic will be joining us as well on the bus to share some tips and tricks for internship and job interviews.
Open to all students with an interest in learning more about local business and careers in bioscience, scientific communication, and other related majors. This is a great way to explore your future and practice having networking conversations with industry leaders before you interview for related jobs in the future!
Also open to faculty, staff, and advisors as well, email Holly Tate, Job & Internship Developer for Eugene/Springfield email@example.com to learn more about how your participation can support students' career readiness!
