A wide receiver twists and makes a memorable one-arm catch. A relief pitcher with an unconventional windup delivers a perfect strike. Dancers spin and never collide. They are masters of proprioception. They sense their bodies and the space they occupy. Andy Karduna of the UO's Department of Human Physiology will discuss his research on upper-body movement and his work with local physicians and physical therapists in treating injuries that disrupt that sensing ability of patients in many walks of life.
