Most of us are affected by the change in seasons – it is normal to feel more cheerful and energetic when the sun is shining and the days are longer, or to find that you eat more or sleep longer in winter. We get to live in a magical place that is green and captivating year round; however during winter time the rain that keeps Oregon green can affect us in different ways. Many students struggle to find the will power it takes to be a successful student when we are away from the sun. Maybe it is you or someone you are close to, in this workshop we will describes the symptoms and the different types of treatment available for SAD. We will also identify coping skills and ways in which we can take better take care of ourselves and others and what friends and family can do to help during the winter blues. This workshop is free and open to UO students, faculty, and staff.
