Friday, November 8 at 7:30pm
Beall Concert Hall
961 East 18th Avenue, Eugene, OR
Performed by Eugene Vocal Arts
We open our 45th season with The Unarmed Child, a heart-wrenchingly important work by composer Michael Bussewitz-Quarm created in response to gun violence against children.
Our commissioned movement, “Bird on a Wire”, relates the lament of a bird for its empty nest. "Hip Hopera" performer Adrian Dunn brings authenticity to the "Requiem" movement addressing the inner city, and the work as a whole offers a sensitive expression of hope.
The program will also feature Benjamin Britten’s Cantata Misericordium, featuring Delgani String Quartet. The cantata tells the story of the Good Samaritan and was composed for the centenary of the Red Cross.
Delgani String Quartet will also join Eugene Vocal Arts for Paul McCartney’s homage to all the lonely people – Eleanor Rigby.
