State of Research presentation by David Conover

​​UPDATE: After being postponed due to a death in the family, David Conover’s presentation on “The State of UO Research: Celebrating Achievement  and Prospects for the Future” has been re-scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018, at 3 p.m. in the EMU Crater Lake North and South rooms.

David Conover, UO’s vice president for research and innovation, will present a talk on the state of research at the University of Oregon. In his presentation, Conover will provide an overview of research at the UO, celebrate the successes achieved during the 2017 fiscal year, set goals for future growth and take questions from the audience. Other issues Conover plans to discuss include:
·      Latest status and the outlook for federal funding of research
·      Major award winners from FY2017
·      Major discoveries from FY17
·      Benchmarking UO progress compared with peers
·      Roll out of a plan for expanding UO’s research portfolio
President Michael S. Schill and Provost Jayanth Banavar will give opening and closing remarks respectively. The event is open to the UO research community.
