Few names loom larger in the history of electronic music than Moog. From Bob Moog's revolutionary ladder filter design in the 1960s to the warm, unmistakable sound that has shaped jazz, rock, film scores, and experimental music ever since, the Moog synthesizer changed what music could be.

Join UO Libraries for a hands-on exploration of the Moog family of instruments, no musical background required. The workshop will feature live demonstrations on the Moog Sub 37, a powerful analog synthesizer, alongside the Moogerfooger effects units the Cluster Flux, MuRF, and Ring Modulator and the Moog Theremini, the modern descendant of the world's first electronic instrument. We'll cover the basics of analog synthesis, explore how these instruments shape sound in real time, and trace the cultural legacy of a brand that continues to define what analog means in a digital world.

This event is free and open to the UO community.
