Whether you're a composer, arranger, performer, or music student, knowing how to put your ideas on paper or on screen is an invaluable skill. Dorico is one of the most powerful and intuitive music notation applications available today, and this 90-minute workshop will give you a practical foundation for using it. We'll cover the essentials: setting up a project, navigating Dorico's interface, entering notes, adding dynamics and articulations, and exporting a finished score or audio file. The first hour features a live instructor demonstration walking through the full workflow from blank page to polished score. Afterward, participants are welcome to stay and try the software themselves on the Douglass Room computer lab stations, with guidance available as you work. No prior experience with Dorico or any notation software is necessary. If you've ever wanted to write down your musical ideas or produce clean, professional scores, this is a great place to start.
