The Futures of Work symposium will include two days of dynamic conversations examining the past, present, and most importantly futures of labor in the Pacific Northwest. The symposium will include presentations from community partners working on the frontlines of climate and environmental justice as well as from faculty, staff, and students from Whitman College, University of Idaho-Moscow, Heritage University, and University of Oregon. It will include site visits to UO’s Zero Waste program and millrace canal. Keynote presentations from executive director of Resilient Force and author of the forthcoming book The Great Escape: A True Story of Forced Labor and Immigrant Dreams in America, and Juliet Schor, economist and sociologist at Boston College and this year’s Wayne Morse scholar!

Space is limited and will fill on a first come, first served basis. Light refreshments, lunch, and a Thursday evening reception will be offered. Full symposium schedule coming soon on our webpage.
