DESCRIPTION:The Pacific Northwest: a geographic area ranging from Alaska to
  Northern California\, to Montana (including British Columbia). The Indige
 nous languages of this area were and remain interconnected with one anothe
 r. Recently\, the area has been a hotbed for language revitalization and r
 eclamation work.\n\nThe Symposium on Northwest American Indigenous Languag
 es (SNAIL)\, hosted by the Northwest Native American Language Resource Cen
 ter (NW-NALRC) at the Northwest Indigenous Language Institute (NILI)\, see
 ks to provide a venue for language speakers\, artists\, communities\, and 
 linguists to come together to share knowledge\, foster collaboration\, and
  celebrate the beauty and diversity of languages within the Pacific Northw
 est.\n\nWe invite talks on any topic relevant to Indigenous languages of t
 he Pacific Northwest. We do prioritize presentations from presenters that:
  a) are Indigenous people of the Pacific Northwest or neighboring regions\
 ; b) work for a Tribal Nation in the Pacific Northwest or neighboring regi
 ons\; or c) are working in collaboration with a Tribal Nation. While theor
 etical and typological presentations are welcome to apply\, they will not 
 be given priority over the work of one of the above groups. SNAIL 2026 wil
 l be held from June 26-27 in Eugene in conjunction with the NILI Summer In
