Romance Languages Graduate Students Association invites you to a screening of the Sundance film festival award winner film, Utama (2022). The film is in Spanish and Quechua with English subtitles and takes place in the arid Bolivian highlands, where an elderly Quechua couple has been living a tranquil life for years. When an uncommonly long drought threatens everything they know, the couple must decide whether to stay and maintain their traditional way of life or admit defeat and move in with family members in the city.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A session with the film director Alejandro Loayza.
