October is Research Month at the University of Oregon. As a part of this there will be a presentation by Joe Loureiro, Senior Investigator – Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research
Joe Loureiro's Bio:
I apply my training in cell and developmental biology to the support of target discovery efforts at Novartis. Members of my team embed in project teams providing input on the design and analysis of wet lab experiments. My graduate research at UNC focused on the role of catenins and non-receptor tyrosine kinases in Drosophila neurogenesis. My post-doc fellowship at MIT focused on the regulation of cytoskeletal dynamics in mammalian cell motility and Listeria infection. And my previous employment at an informatics start-up called Genstruct focused on the development and utilization of computational methods to derive causal inferences from 'omic data.
