In response to the changing global geopolitics ever since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Geography proposes to organize an in-person conference titled “Rethinking Territory: Global Shifts, Local Dynamics” to be held June 3-4.  

The goal is to forge richer understandings of crises brought about by territorial conflicts so that students and other members of the UO community can respond productively to these crises. This conference is sponsored by the UO Global Justice Program, UO Collge of Arts and Sciences, and UO Department of Geography.
