Responsive Mentorship Workshop Series

Session 1:   Journeys in Mentorship: Stories from Students and Faculty

Description: Listen to personal stories from University of Oregon faculty, undergrads, and graduate students about their experiences as mentors and mentees, followed by a facilitated panel discussion and Q&A with the storytellers.

Time: 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM

Session 2:  Mentoring and You: Responsive Mentorship Story Circles

Description: Share your own experiences as mentors and mentees within small groups and then participate in a facilitated discussion to synthesize participants’ experiential knowledge of responsive mentorship.

Time: 10:45 AM – 12:15 PM  

Session 3:  Evidence-Based Mentoring: Exploring the Literature on Responsive Mentorship

Description: Explore the literature surrounding responsive mentorship through active learning exercises and co-create an actionable mentorship model with workshop coparticipants.

Time: 1:15 PM – 2:45 PM

Session 4:  Practicing Mentorship: Practical Skill Development for Mentors and Mentees

Description: Learn to identify patterns of dysfunctional mentoring relationships and interactively practice responsive mentoring with trained actors from Rehearsals for Life.

Time: 3:00 – 4:30 PM
