About the Author:

Beth Macy is an author, a journalist, a frequent lecturer/speaker and a former reporter. Her work has appeared in national magazines and The Roanoke Times, where her reporting has won more than a dozen national awards, including a Neiman Fellowship for Journalism at Harvard.
