Join us spring term as we host a series of speakers that are working to redefine the term “outdoorsy”. Often times the term “outdoorsy” seems exclusive to one demographic: straight, white men. Throughout the term we will be bringing in a variety of different speakers who will discuss creating and holding space in the Outdoors where often times their identities are not always welcome.
Our first speaker of the term will be Adam Edwards is a outdoors person, arborist, model, photographer and writer based in Portland, Oregon. An avid whitewater kayaker and adventurer he spends his free time paddling and exploring rivers and forests in the Pacific Northwest. Drawing from his diversity of experience he tries to shed light on issues of diversity, representation and equity that arise in his day to day life as well as in the back country.
