Queering Healthy Relationships
About this Event
Queering Healthy Relationships
Monday of Week 7, November 16th, 5:30pm – 7:00pm
Event Description:
Relationships (sexual, romantic, or otherwise) are a big part of everyone’s lives. We spend a lot of time in them and a lot of time thinking about them—is this relationship working? Can I be a better partner? How do I address a problem I’m having? The list of worries can be long. More often than not, information about healthy relationships is centered around straight people; it can be challenging to find resources and information that make sense for queer relationships.
During this period of social distancing, many of us are separated from partners and queer family, and some of us are in physical environments that may not be affirming—or safe. These pressures make our connections with each other more important than ever, whether they’re happening in-person or digitally.
Join Drew and Ritu, queer mental health professionals and confidential advocates at the University of Oregon as they unpack the concept of a “healthy relationship” and explore how to develop relationships that work for queer people and our chosen families.
