 s or anyone wanting to review the basics\, this workshop lays the foundatio
 n for attendees to understand Python code and begin writing scripts.\n\nThe
  workshop follows the Software Carpentries workshop curriculum Plotting and
  Programming in Python\, and will cover introductory topics such as variabl
 es\, data types\, data frames\, and plotting. If time allows\, we'll contin
 ue on to lists\, for loops\, conditionals\, and writing basic functions.\n\
 nBefore the workshop\, please install Python 3 in the interface of your cho
 ice. We recommend either JupyterLab Desktop (available for installation her
 e) or Anaconda (instructions here). If you need help troubleshooting an ins
 tallation\, you can make an appointment with us. If you aren't allowed to i
 nstall anything on your computer\, or if you are having trouble with your i
 nstallation\, you can instead use Google CoLab\, but be aware that there ar
 e differences between CoLab and Jupyter Notebooks\, such as how to upload d
 ata to CoLab.
