"Restitution, Repatriation and Resolutions: African Cultural Patrimony in the Age of New Digital Image Regimes"
When and how should we repatriate African cultural patrimony held in western museums and institutions? In this public lecture, Prof. Ogbechie will discuss how the discourse on repatriation and restitution is affected by new image regimes that monetize cultural production, and how African countries can benefit from these developments.
This lecture is sponsored by the Department of the History of Art & Architecture with the generous support of UO African Studies.
