Design thinking is a collaborative process for solving complex problems. As more and more organizations move to team-based work environments, the design thinking methodology is becoming a much-needed skill for keeping organizations innovative and agile.

In this short course, you will learn the purpose of and strategy behind design thinking, participate in the process, and leave with best practices you can apply to your own challenges.

You will work on real business challenges while learning:

  • The design thinking process
  • Why the design thinking process works (and when it doesn’t)
  • How to write an effective design brief
  • How to collect, analyze, and synthesize valuable qualitative data
  • Methods for ideation that can produce hundreds of ideas in a short amount of time
  • How to rapidly prototype and iteratively test prototypes

Advanced registration is required. This is a two-day short course, taking place on both January 25 and February 1. Students must be available to attend BOTH sessions.

UO students across all levels and disciplines are invited to register. Session is free for all students this year only in exchange for completion of a survey. You do not want to miss this opportunity!
