IT’S BAAACCCK! Don’t miss Pipe Screams 2022!! 3:00 PM, Sunday, Oct. 30

The Eugene American Guild of Organists, together with the University of Oregon School of Music, will celebrate the 19th annual Halloween Pipe Organ Concert on Sunday, Oct. 30 at 3:00 PM in Beall Concert Hall at the University of Oregon School of Music. This performance will feature the terribly talented members of the local American Guild of Organists Chapter, as well as University of Oregon organ students, wearing wild and crazy costumes, while playing frighteningly fun, wonderfully wacky, silly and spooky Halloween music. There will be a special appearance by the Eugene Gleemen, as well as a hair-raising rendition of Bach’s famous Toccata and Fugue in d, and a howling good time will be had by all.

This year’s Master of Ceremonies is Roger Sherman, producer and host of the Organ Loft, a radio program about music of the Pacific Northwest, and more particularly about choral and organ music. Roger travels around the world to record some of the great organs, organists and choirs of our time—and to bring those musical adventures to KWAX-FM listeners. The Organ Loft has featured many first performances of musical works, and first recordings of new pipe organs. As president of The Gothic Catalog, he has been the Executive Producer of over 300 albums, and recording engineer for many of them—in places as diverse as Korea, Sweden, Holland, Germany, Denmark, Italy, France and Mexico.

Invite your friends and family, particularly the young and young at heart, to join us for this celebration of music for the haunting Halloween season.
