OBF on KWAX RADIO: A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Thursday, July 2 at 2:00pm

Virtual Event

Charles O’Connell, author of The Victor Book of The Symphony, wrote, “There is a magic in [Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream] ... an ethereal quality compounded of dew and honey and the nectar of flowers. There are pranks and clowning, true love and black magic, pathos and the pleasant, impossible conceits of a poet’s imagination.” The 1993 OBF performance of Mendelssohn’s work will be followed by Franz Schubert’s Mass in A-flat Major. The 1996 recording features the superb tenor James Taylor.
