The 2026 Spring Officers of Administration Professional Development Symposium will focus on Building a Culture of Community following the UO’s strategic plan, Oregon Rising. 

This full-day event will bring together OAs from across the UO Eugene and the UO Portland campus for morning and afternoon sessions designed to foster a culture of community, and networking. Through various learning activities, participants will imagine and develop a culture that fosters community, gain a deeper understanding of trust, networking techniques, covering key elements such as growth, well-being, resilience, trust, belonging, connection, and purpose. 

Attendees will hear from key leaders and engage in a hands-on activity facilitated by keynote speaker, Anthony Lambatos, Founder, MIBE Making It Better Every Day-Leadership Development and Owner, Footers Catering, and President of UO Alumni Association, who will provide inspiration and strategies for creating a culture we want to call our community. 

The afternoon welcomes keynote speaker Jenna Schuttpelz, Senior Director for Talent Acquisitions and Class and Compensation, Human Resources. Jenna will share an activity and discussion around building your network, including the value of networking, practical tools and both individual and team habits that can strengthen your network and community. 

Attendees will leave the symposium with an opportunity for participants to engage with one another, share ideas, and create a stronger, more connected community. 

Intended audience: Current UO Officers of Administration.

Please note that this event is in-person. Eugene employees will meet in the Ford Alumni Center Ballroom, Portland employees will be on the Portland main campus, specific location TBD. Portland will be livestreamed to connect with Eugene keynote presentations.

  • 8:30 - 9:00 am        Check-in with coffee/tea
  • 9:00 - 10:00 am      Welcome, President Scholz, Provost Long
  • 10:00 - 12:00 pm    Keynote speaker, Anthony Lambatos, MIBE Company
  • Noon - 1:00 pm       Catered lunch and networking
  • 1:00 - 2:00 pm        Building a community network, Jenna Schuttpelz, HR
  • 2:00 - 2:30 pm        Closing activity
