Mohammed Murshed, graduated from the University of Oregon in spring '18 with a Bachelor of Art in Art & Technology; he is currently pursuing an MFA in Visual Studies at the Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland. Murshed's work will be on view in the Adell McMillan Gallery Fall '18. Artist's statement: "When I begin a project, I already envision the concept of the idea in my mind, I do not force anything into my work. Some of my artwork reflects on my diagnoses of PTSD due to the war in Yemen and synesthesia. Ancient Middle Eastern Art inspires this Collection for Summer 2018. This series is devoted to Professor Jan Reaves (RIP 1945-2018); she was my Mentor through my last two years in University and has inspired me to work harder and not to give up. The impact of my cultural heritage reflects on my artwork. It subconsciously comes out to me; I consider myself a global citizen I would like my work to touch everyone globally."
