Join the Outdoor Program and University Counseling Services for an informational backpacking session with a focus on mental health. We will be covering all the basics that you need to know to plan a backpacking trip including permits, how to pack a backpack and leave not trace ethics (LNT). Normalizing conversations about mental health and finding healthy ways to cope is important. Spending time in nature has physical, mental and emotional benefits for people, of all backgrounds and ages. We will be discussing how the outdoors and mental health intersect and effect one another.
