Marziah Rajabzadeh and Mohsen Marizad of United Design Architects will give a talk about how Research-based Design shapes their professional and pedagogical efforts. They use mathematical and natural geometric systems as a genergative design engine. With their interest in applying advanced technologies for the benefit of society, they are continuously investigating the intersection of digital technologies and generative design strategies and their impact on the local to global sense of culture and identity.
Mohsen Marizad is an award-winning Iranian architect and design instructor who has worked in the U.S., Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Mohsen was awarded the Architizer Jury Award in 2017 and 2018 for Framanieh Residential Tower and Hamedan Chamber of Commerce respectively. He is currently a project designer at Gensler and lives in San Jose, CA.
Marziah Rajabzadeh is faculty and Academic Coordinator for the Master in Advanced Ecological Buildings at the Institute for the Advanced Architecture of Catalonia in Barcelona, Spain. She is the former Director of Design at Built by Associative Data's Barcelona Office. She was awarded the Architizer Jurly Award in 2018 for the Hamedan Chamber of Commerce.
