Global Oregon Faculty Collaboration Fund Lecture Series presents, “Public History in Russia Before and During the War.”

Julia Lajus, PhD, will discuss the way public history has functioned as part of popular discourse in Russia for the past decade, and how it was influenced by the war in Ukraine. Lajus speaks from both professional study and from personal experience, as from 2014 to 2019 she was an Academic Head of the International MA Programme in Applied and Interdisciplinary History “Usable Pasts” at one of Russia’s top universities, National Research University Higher School of Economics, St. Petersburg campus.
