Originally from the Commonwealth of Dominica, she is a STEAM advocate and is committed to creating next-generation technologies that transform medicine. Simon holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical and biomolecular engineering from Georgia Tech and a doctoral degree in macromolecular science and engineering from the University of Michigan. She writes the Abby Invents picture book series. The second title, “Abby Invents the Foldibot,” is out now. In 2020, she founded Abby Invents, a multicultural children’s products company, to inspire future inventors, everywhere. Simon has two patents. She invented a blood test that detects when cancer patients reject a bone marrow transplant.
