About this Event

http://www.janejacobswalk.org/2018-walks/trees-of-uni-oregonJane’s Walk” is a global event celebrating the legacy of Jane Jacobs, an urbanist and activist who transformed how city and community planning is approached. The walks are organized to encourage people to come together and explore their communities. The City of Eugene has been organizing the event locally since 2016 and the UO typically participates to celebrate the university community and campus. This year staff from Campus Planning and Facilities Services and Landscape Architecture faculty will be leading a walk to observe a number of significant trees and associated open spaces on campus. The University of Oregon campus has a number of unusual and significant trees which define the campus character. Trees provide a learning tool for students and silently carry on stories and the legacy of the past. On May 4 at 1 pm the walk will begin and end at the Erb Memorial Union outdoor amphitheater at the intersection of 13th Avenue and University Street.
