Call to our LGBTQIA+ Community: Help us honor and celebrate our Lavender Graduates!

The LGBT Education and Support Services is accepting submissions for community gifts and words of congratulations for our Lavender Graduates!

What is Lavender Graduation?

Lavender Graduation celebrates the accomplishments and achievements of undergraduate and graduate lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, aromantic, asexual, agender, non-binary, pansexual, same-gender-loving, two-spirit, allied, and all others connected to the LGBTQIA+ community. This ceremony is celebrated by colleges and universities across the country for over 15 years!

What is our call for submissions?

We are calling on YOU, our community of artists, creatives, writers, and supporters to offer a memento, note, or handmade craft to each of our Lavender Graduates. Submission may include handwritten notes, paintings, embroidery, jewelry, collages, dried flowers, enamel pins, or really anything!

Submissions may include:

1) A note (congratulations, advice, community love) sent to all graduates.

AND/OR

2) A personalized item or note mailed to all graduates. Once we receive your personalized items, we will take care of shipping these individually to graduates.

Why call for submissions?

Due to our ceremony moving to a remote setting, we are missing our community being present for our Lavender Graduates. This is a creative way to be part of our graduate’s moment of accomplishment by offering tokens of our appreciation and celebration. Plus, it is a fun activity for those looking to get to crafting and being part of an initiative for LGBTQIA+ community care!
