James Tice co-created the Interactive Nolli Map of Rome more than ten years ago as a resource for students and scholars. The website and related research has since mushroomed into an international phenomenon that now features the city’s cartography from antiquity to the present. Tice will share his passion for one of the world's great cities through a series of magnificent cartographic portraits.

He received the university’s highest research honor, the Presidential Research Award in 2013. Tice is a professor of architecture at the University of Oregon School of Architecture and Allied Arts.
