Artist Statement:
My name is Cruz Godar, I’m a graduate student in the math department here at UO, and I spend some of my free time writing and polishing high-performance web applets for creating fractals and related objects. Math is often portrayed as obscure and detached — often for good reason — and images like these help give it a better face. Despite originating from disparate areas, these fractals all share an intrinsic beauty that anyone can appreciate, mathematician or not.
These images, as well as others, can be viewed as interactive applets at cruzgodar.com.
