Please join us for "Free Speech in Japan: Forms of Speech, Forms of Suppression," part of the "Rethinking Free Speech in East Asia" lecture series. Lawrence Repeta, former Faculty of Law at Meiji University, will discuss the state of freedom of speech in modern Japan, drawing on common forms of political speech and specific cases of police surveillance and the suppression of speech deemed undesirable by the authorities.
