Join us at UO's Erb Memorial Union for a special film screening and community dialogue on the future of local journalism in Oregon.

How do we sustain local journalism in the face of economic pressures, rising mistrust in media, and evolving community needs? For the Record, an award-winning documentary by filmmaker Heather Courtney explores this question through the story of The Canadian Record, a family-owned newspaper in a small Texas town.

Join us at the University of Oregon for a special film screening and community dialogue on the future of local journalism. This event will feature filmmaker Heather Courtney and Laurie Ezzell Brown, publisher and editor of The Canadian Record, and will bring together students, faculty, journalists, and community members to explore actionable strategies for strengthening local news in Oregon.
