The UO Erb Memorial Union will celebrate its Permanent Art Collection with a public Art Opening on Friday, November 2, 2018, 5:30-7:30 pm. Guests are invited to mingle with featured artists, join guided building tours, participate in interactive EMU Craft Center art projects and enjoy live music and refreshments in the EMU Oregon Plaza.
Established in 1950 with a handful of donations, the EMU Permanent Art Collection has grown to include 280 paintings, prints and sculptures with a focus on Pacific Northwest art and artists. Today’s collection includes works acquired through the EMU’s Pacific Northwest Art Annual, a large donation from the estate of former EMU Director Adell McMillan, as well as several pieces commissioned through Oregon’s Percent for Art program.
