Edward Curtis was an American photographer and ethnologist best known for his work, The North American Indian, consisting of twenty bound volumes of photographs and twenty volumes of text depicting Native Americans in the early part of the 20th century. Each viewing will feature five of the twenty photographic volumes, rotated quarterly. Sessions will be led by University of Oregon Curator of Visual Materials, Danielle Mericle, and Jan Smith of the Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma. All are welcome. Registration is required for this free event.
