Adrian Parr will speak on her recent publication Earthlings: Imaginative Encounters with the Natural World. The book was awarded a silver medal at this year’s Nautilus Book Awards in the envi-ronmental category. The book both articulates and activates a concept of transenvironmentalism structured by transpecies, transgenerational, and transnational thinking and practices. She will discuss the role affect and the imagination play in advancing an environmental ethic.

Parr is the Dean of the College of Design, Professor of Planning, Public Policy and Management, and Associated Faculty of History of Art and Architecture and Landscape Architecture at the University of Oregon.
