DESCRIPTION:Enjoy dinner while learning from Coleen Gose during our Diverse
Narratives speaker series this fall.\n\nTo be nice is not always to be kin
d or effective. In this session\, participants will unpack the hidden dynam
ics of "cultures of nice\," learn how they show up in organizations\, and e
xplore the tension between civility and authenticity.\n\nWith 2025 workplac
e trends showing increasing emphasis on psychological safety\, transparency
\, and inclusive leadership\, we'll dive into real-world tools to shift unp
roductive patterns and foster workplaces where honesty and humanity can coe
xist.\n\nParticipants will also examine the personal and organizational cos
ts of conflict avoidance\, including diminished trust\, lack of innovation\
, and unclear accountability. By embracing discomfort as a pathway to growt
h\, participants can build cultures rooted in respect\, clarity\, and meani
ngful connection.\n\nWhile this event is with focus on graduate students\,
we welcome undergraduate students interested in participating.
