Curious About Translating Customer Service into Leadership Skills? Learn how part-time jobs can take your career to the next level!

Working part-time or interning in retail or customer service while in college is practically a right of passage into the world of work. BUT how do you translate folding clothes, making coffee, dealing with difficult customers, and working a cash register into career readiness skills that employers look for in future leaders across all industries? OR how do you take a fun part-time job/internship and turn it into a great career path at a retailer with a high-quality work culture that wants to support your growth as a leader?

Join us for a fun conversation with UO alum Brandon Caldwell (UO'12, BS Economics, minor in Business) about his career path from Management Intern at Kohl's to now being Kohl's District Manager for the 14 stores in less than 10 years! He'll be joined by local Kohl's leaders to share about not only career paths in retail management but how to make the most of your retail experience by building career readiness skills like teamwork, technology, and leadership. Walk away with practical resume advice about how to go from just listing retail tasks on your resume to demonstrating skills and impact that will take your resume to the next level!

Open to all majors! Snacks provided! Time for networking after!

This event is part of the 2023 Winter Career Readiness Week sponsored by the University Career Center.
