About this Event
Kellen Lewis is a visual artist, performer, small business owner, holistic and wellness practitioner. He was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, proudly representing both the Black and Niimi´ipuu ancestry. Mr. Lewis embraces these multifaceted identities to empower their work in all its manifestations and shares their art through Trenal Original, a traditional-arts based, 2SLGBTQ+/BIPOC-owned, small business. Lewis co-hosts Quantum Theory, a podcast focused on amplifying Black and Indigenous voices alongside Mikailah Thompson, also Black/niimíipuu artist and entrepreneur. He has appeared in Reservation Dogs and has portrayed the title character in the Nez Perce play "According to Coyote," which features stories of the trickster of Native American mythology. Kellen is also an expert beadwork artist and professional dancer. Hosted by English 341 on the Vancouver campus, and open to all.
