The University of Oregon’s Center for Art Research is pleased to present “CPI Fellows in Conversation” on Friday, June 2 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. in the Knight Campus seminar room. In dialogue with each other and with CFAR director Colin Ives, CPI Fellows will present their inquiries and experiments made while in-residence. The conversations will be followed by a tour of the facilities and a reception on the terrace from 3:00-4:00 p.m.
The CFAR Project Incubator (CPI) is a partnership between the University of Oregon Center for Art Research (CFAR) and Phil and Penny Knight Campus for Accelerating Scientific Impact, which affords Oregon artists working in any medium the opportunity to explore and conceptualize new work as a part of a vibrant, interdisciplinary research community that is supported by cutting-edge facilities and technical staff. This program is born out of CFAR and Knight Campus’s goals to create nimble systems that catalyze innovation and discovery by responding to the needs of individual’s specific research agendas. CPI’s emphasis is not necessarily on the production of a body of work, but instead on speculative, practice-based inquiry focused on ideation, experimentation, prototyping, testing, fabricating, and theoretical research to initiate and incubate new work.
Visit 2022-23 CPI Fellows and 2021-2022 CPI Fellows for details about CPI Fellows and their projects.
This program is generously funded by The Ford Family Foundation Golden Spot program.
