UO Office of Sustainability is hosting a community plastics collection of items currently collected through curbside recycling programs. To participate, community members must book a 15-minute appointment. Plastic items accepted for recycling will follow Lane County Collection Guidelines:

• Clean and dry
• Separated into the categories of:  #2 bottles and jugs, #2 tubs and lids, #4 bottles, tubs and lids and #5 bottles, tubs and lids
• Remove all decals and labels

(Note: Plastics that have printing directly on their surface without a separate label are acceptable if clean and dry) 

After booking an appointment, you will receive tips on preparing your plastic items to ensure they are accepted and location and parking information.    

Upon arrival for your appointment, Student Sustainability Ambassadors will check your items, return to you any items that need some more work and accept items ready for the next stage of the recycling process.
