As the federal agency responsible for U.S. foreign policy, the U.S. Department of State advances U.S. interests from its headquarters in D.C. and over 270 diplomatic missions worldwide. We recruit for IT, engineering, healthcare, international affairs, legal, business, management, and public relations careers, among others. Foreign Service Officers and Specialists make diplomacy happen abroad. Civil Service employees provide continuity and expertise in all aspects of the Department’s mission in Washington, D.C. and other domestic locations.
