Ceramics Building, Washburn Gallery
When I was a child, I lived in an alley where various Thai foods were sold. There were many restaurants and convenience stores that were owned by local families. You can buy anything from food, beverages, and daily essentials.
The place holds many fond memories of my father and me; having meals with him is one of my favorite memories I had of us together. When I returned to Thailand in the Summer of 2018, we went back to the place where I grew up and had food together. The food I had when I was a child brought me back to my childhood before I moved to the U.S. Through my illustrations of food, I hope to share the culture that I grew up in.
