Professor Kate Mondloch will talk about her newest book, A Capsule Aesthetic: Feminist Materialisms in New Media Art. The book examines three artists, Pipilotti Rist, Patricia Piccinini, and Mariko Mori, and the ways they address technology in their work. Mondloch lends unique insight into new media and new materialism through a feminist theory lens that allows for more exposure of human and non-human interactions.
Books by Design occurs once per term and features the work of a faculty member from the College of Design.
