In observance of Sexual Assault Awareness Month and National Dance Week (April 24-30)
Come for one event or stay for all three! Free and open to the public.
5-6PM: Yes/Know Movement Workshop. Explore the nuances of giving and receiving consent through touch, led by an artist from DanceAbility International, a Eugene-based dance company that seeks to dissolve barriers and connect people with and without disabilities through dance and movement. Participants will experience simple yet powerful moments of self-expression and practice responding to acceptance/rejection through bodily contact. All are welcome—no dance experience required!
6-7PM: Free dinner provided by the Wesley Center. Gluten-free and vegetarian options available.
7-8PM: Body Talk Performance. Local choreographers—undergraduates, faculty members and local artists—present short dance works that address themes of femininity, masculinity, sexuality and sexual violence.
