Learn the joy of fixing your own bicycle with in-depth instruction from Bike Program Mechanic Sam Miller. This six-session course will teach you to repair and maintain a standard road, mountain, or commuter bike. This class does not cover hydraulic or electric systems. Despite this limitation, all bikes are welcome.
Each night focuses on a different system of the bike. Topics include (in order): flat fix, hub overhaul, wheel truing/bottom bracket, brakes, drive-train, derailleurs. This is an accelerated course with the six courses happening over a period of three weeks.
Cost: $65/three week course (students and OP members*)

Date and Time: Mondays and Wednesdays weeks 2-4, 6-8 p.m.
Location: UO Bike Program in the EMU
Gear: Bring your own bike to repair, or borrow one from us
Sign-up: Pre-register at the UO Bike Program, EMU 008, M-F noon-5 p.m.
*You are not signed up until you pay at the Outdoor Program EMU, Room 008, or the Outdoor Program Rental Barn on 18th and University Street. Hours are M-F noon-5 p.m.
OP Membership Required: Students are already members! Pay an extra $5 for the event as a one-time day-use fee. Or, you can purchase an annual year-to-date membership for $25 by coming into one of our above-listed locations. You will also need to purchase a one-time community member card from Card Services in the Erb Memorial Union for $10. The card and membership will enable you to access our Rental Barn for affordably priced outdoor gear, the Do-It-Yourself Bike Workspace, and entry to Outdoor Program events and Common Adventure trips.
