This special event, part of the 75th Anniversary of the UO Asian Studies Program, will discuss the politics, society, and culture of North Korea, with panels entitled "Historical and Comparative Perspectives of Politics," "Domestic and International Dynamics," "Society and Culture," and "Arts and Media." The keynote speaker, Heonik Kwon of the University of Cambridge, will give a talk entitled "Three Extraordinary Things That Are Common between Two Korean Societies." This unique eveent is free and open to the public.
