North Korea is so much in the news these days, yet the country remains mysterious to most Americans. By bringing together the world renowned experts on North Korea to campus, we aim to offer the public an opportunity to learn about what is behind the deadlines and how to interpret the ongoing tensions between North Korea and the international community.
This two-day event opens with a showing of a North Korean film on Thursday, May 3, 2018, followed
by a discussion by a panel of experts on North Korean film. The next day, Friday, May 4, 2018 will feature a keynote speaker and four panels.

Primary organizers: Dong Hoon Kim (Cinema Studies), HyeRyoung Ok (School of Journalism; Communication), Tuong Vu (Political Science; Asian Studies) Co-organizers: Jeff Hanes and Holly Lakey (Center for Asian Pacific Studies/CAPS)
